US Army Corps Opens 45‑Day Comment Period on Arctic Mine Proposal Using Ambler Road

The Corps of Engineers has issued a Notice of Intent that opens a 45‑day public‑comment period (through Nov. 2) for an upcoming environmental review of the Arctic Project, an open‑pit copper–zinc–lead‑gold–silver mine. The project, developed by Ambler Metals (a joint venture of South32 and Trilogy), would use the 211‑mile Ambler road to access a 0.4‑sq‑mile deposit capable of processing about 11,000 daily tons of ore.
