Ice‑breaking tanker Konstantin Posiet departs Ussuri Bay for first Arctic voyage

Russia’s second domestically built Arc7 LNG tanker, Konstantin Posiet (IMO 9904704), left Ussuri Bay in Primorsky Krai on Aug 14 and is heading north along the Northern Sea Route toward the Kara Sea. The vessel can break 2‑m ice and will enable year‑round shipments of up to 250 000 tonnes LNG per month for the Arctic LNG 2 project, averting the production pauses that occurred when the Ob Bay froze.
