Rubio Visits Iceland to Reinforce Arctic Security Cooperation

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Reykjavik on Oct 6, meeting Icelandic Foreign Minister Thorgerdur Katrin Gunnarsdottir and reaffirming U.S.–Iceland cooperative ties. He did not announce new policies, but the trip followed a recent security agreement between the U.S., Denmark and Greenland that expands regional cooperation. Iceland had noted a prior Trump social‑media post and summoned the U.S. ambassador.
