Nunavut’s first 100‑percent Inuit‑owned clean‑energy developer is installing a one‑megawatt wind turbine in Sanikiluaq in September 2026. The project—financed with $25 million from federal, QIA and the Canada Infrastructure Bank—is set to replace up to 70 % of diesel power and could bring electric supply into service by 2027.
