Russia Nearly Doubles LNG Carrier Fleet Serving Sanctioned Arctic LNG 2 Project

Russia has added a new year‑round ice‑class LNG carrier to its fleet, bringing the total number of vessels serving the Arctic LNG 2 project to at least 20 in less than a year. The expansion is part of Moscow’s strategy to keep exporting LNG amid looming EU sanctions and the fact that China remains the only buyer, but shipping constraints still limit the project’s full output.
