Rinehart’s Hancock expands into copper with stake in Nunavut explorer

Hancock Prospecting, Gina Rinehart’s mining firm, spent A$8.77 million (≈$6.2 M) to buy a 13.5 % stake in White Cliff Minerals, accelerating drilling at its Rae copper project 75 km west of Kugluktuk, Nunavut. The purchase is part of a nine‑deal spree that is expanding Rinehart’s portfolio beyond iron ore into strategic metals such as copper, rare earths, and gallium.
