Repatriation ceremony brings remains of three Alaska Native students home

On September 30, a formal ceremony marked the return of the remains of Tummassak, Lucy Spaulding and Edward Angalook from the Carlisle Indian Industrial School cemetery to their families and tribes. The caskets were carried out of a ceremonial tent after disinterment a week earlier, with about 50 attendees. A grave believed to hold another Alaska student, Mabel Booth, remains unidentified.
