NWT and Nunavut premiers decide against signing Direct-to-Consumer Alcohol Agreement

The Northwest Territories and Nunavut premiers declined to sign the Direct‑to‑Consumer Alcohol Agreement that would allow consumers to order alcohol from breweries, wineries or distilleries for delivery to their homes. Nine provinces had signed the pact in Charlottetown on July 21, but the premiers cited the unique community‑driven restrictions of northern territories.
