Between 2021 and 2025 Nunavut’s four major Inuit associations earned $482.8 million in royalties and fees, representing 3.1 % of the $14.8 billion worth of gold and iron extracted. Payments grew sharply each year, but the share climbed only from 2.7 % to 3.6 %, with Agnico Eagle’s profit‑share royalty falling from 8.2 % to 5.5 %. Corporate taxes and fees paid by mining companies were about 0.4 % of extracted value.
