Norway Lobbies to Persuade EU to Drop Arctic Drilling Ban

Norway has sent almost a dozen ministers to Brussels to lobby the EU to lift or revise its 2021 moratorium on Arctic drilling in the Barents Sea, arguing no climate difference north/south and that it could unlock about 3.5 billion barrels of gas. EU envoy Claude Veron‑Reville said Norway is very active, while Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide denied a climate argument for the split.
