Murmansk to Ship Grain Using Fertilizer Equipment Amid Blocked Black Sea Routes

Murmansk’s Arctic commercial port will begin exporting grain using fertilizer‑handling equipment, including a direct‑transfer system from railcars to ships, with first shipments expected as early as October 2026. The port, 2,700 km from the main Black Sea outlet and never before handling grain, is part of Russia’s effort to maintain export flows amid the blockade.
