Dunleavy announces new Alaska Military Affairs Office to improve coordination, boost priorities
Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy has launched a new Military Affairs Office staffed by three employees in Fairbanks and Anchorage, funded with a Defense Department grant. The office will coordinate long‑range defense infrastructure planning—Port of Nome expansion, Coast Guard icebreaker homeports in Kodiak and Seward, and a micro‑grid at the Port of Alaska—and strengthen partnerships among installations, local governments, tribal groups and businesses.
