Coast Guard Cutter Munro completes Arctic patrol, strengthens U.S. presence in high north

US Coast Guard cutter Munro returned on Oct. 9 after a 112‑day patrol that covered more than 23,000 nautical miles across the Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean. The vessel conducted sovereignty, fisheries enforcement and boarding operations, monitored three Chinese‑flagged research ships, and cooperated with the Royal Canadian Navy and U.S. Defense forces in exercises such as Operation Tundra Merlin.
