Alaska proposes $44–$55 billion gas pipeline after special session on tax concessions

Gov. Mike Dunleavy has called a special legislative session to eliminate most state and municipal property taxes on the proposed pipeline, offering revenue sharing once gas flows. The Glenfarne‑sponsored line would run from Alaska’s North Slope to a Cook Inlet LNG plant at an estimated cost of $44–$55 billion, tapping about 35 trillion cubic feet of stranded natural gas currently reinjected at roughly 8 Bcf/day.
